May 3 is the National Day of Prayer in the US. As we look around and see the increase in violence, corruption, and polarization in our country, we need change. So often that change gets defined by political rhetoric or policy, but the change we need is deeper.
We need a change in our hearts- a change from hatred to love, from greed to generosity, from revenge and one upmanship to forgiveness and respect, from the shortcuts and quick gains to the long terms solid fruit- that only God can produce.
Jesus taught us to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation.
but deliver us from evil.
Pray with me for His will to be done “on earth as it is in heaven.” Let’s lift up our government leaders, educators, families, churches, military, business/ economic and media leaders – that they will stand for integrity, truth, wisdom, responsibility.
What changes would you like to see? What are you asking God to do where you are?
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

Thanks, Laurie! somehow, as we were praying yesterday, I felt like we were just sticking our toes in the water. Lots more to lay before the Lord!
Amen! I’m praying for God to raise up Christian leaders. I think we need more in political office.
I’ll join you in that prayer, Alecia. We need wise leaders in every domain of society. Thanks for your comment.
